My name is Aluin Augier and I am 24 years old, I am a merchant and I come from a pretty rich family and I can afford quite a few luxuries. Right now I don't have a wife, or parents or siblings, I've had a family, but they've all died of tuberculosis, a new disease. Today, I live close to my friend, Denis, he is a farmer and we live in Pau, a city in France.

I wake up early in the morning to go to work, first breakfast and when I’m done, I grab my friend’s grown produce which are: potatoes, tomatoes, wheat and something else. I leave everything in my cart and, a while later, I leave Pau doing the shopping route. The trip is very long, so I get there in the afternoon. When I get there, I quickly go to the market and most of the time I sell all the products, but when I haven’t sold them at all, I eat what’s left over, as they would spoil the next day. When the time to sell is over, I leave the market. Then I eat what is left over from the market or, if there is very little, I eat what I have brought: white bread, wine, meat and vegetables. Since it’s already night, I won’t be home until the next day. On that day, I leave Toulouse very early and do not arrive home until the afternoon, almost at night. Then I go to sleep and the next day I continue with my work.

I make three meals a day, breakfast, snack and dinner, I make my own meals. For breakfast, I eat legumes, white bread, wine and eggs. For snack, I don’t eat much, just a few pieces of fruit, and for dinner I eat white bread, vegetables, wine, fish or meat, and one or two pieces of fruit. I don’t have free time as I travel a lot and I have to wait for customers to buy me almost everything. If one day, for whatever reason, I can’t go to work, I go to some theater to be distracted and that would be a hobby I have, I also really like music.

I relate, when I can, to my friend and his wife. I’m not very happy, as I have no family, just my partner, Denis. To be happy, I should have my lineage and be able to sell the products in a city closer to or in my city, but the king told me they already had a lot of merchants out there.
